Redwood Bungalow / Blithedale, California

Redwood Bungalow - Blithedale, California interior design

Life among the redwoods.

Built in 1925, this was one of the earliest homes in the area—predating the Golden Gate Bridge by more than a decade. Having grown up in Mill Valley, our client searched for years for a true classic and was thrilled when this one became available. While some of its original charm remained, the house felt too much like a clean slate, so we layered in patterns and furnishings that would both serve a family of five and honor the home’s nearly century-old character. With construction kept to a minimum, paint and wallpaper became the primary tools for the transformation—turning it into a warm, inviting bungalow where each day adds to the family’s own chapter in a timeless Mill Valley story.
