Coastal Cottage / Inverness, California

Coastal Cottage - Inverness, California interior design

A retreat to the rhythm of the tide.

Nestled along the Inverness shoreline, this charming yet minimal cottage was reimagined as a place to slow down. The former ADU was joined with the main home to create a primary suite that opens to sweeping water views, with a bistro set for early morning coffee. A partially open bathroom plan lends a sense of spaciousness, while the kitchen was opened up to bring in more light and air. Wall paneling, classic black-and-white tile, and natural materials keep the palette calm and timeless, and pieces from the original architect–owner, including the painting above the tub, connect the home’s past to its present. Casual and inviting, it’s a retreat where life unfolds at an easier pace.
